Review:

Not to be confused with a Frozen Daiquiri, which is blended with crushed ice, a Daiquiri served frappé is shaken with cubed ice and then strained over crushed ice. The result is very different and this frappé serve amplifies the flavour of the rum so suits a light white rather than a more characterful rum. Also, while I'd obviously advocate the use of Difford's Daiquiri Bitters when serving straight-up, the chilled simplicity of the frappé is serve best kept simple – rum, lime, sugar and water/ice.

If you've good crushed ice and start with a well-chilled glass, you should be able to take your time sipping this cocktail and once finished you be left with a glass at least half filled with pebbles of ice. The trick is to crush cubes of ice taken directly from a freezer immediately before serving.
