History:

The Fireman's Sour first appears in Hugo Ensslin's 1917 book Recipes for Mixed Drinks (second edition).

Review:

A cocktail that dates from the early 20th century, when it was made without egg white and served straight-up. However, this more contemporary rendition, with egg white (or alternative) and over ice, is rather better.
