Ingredients: 1 oz Lime cordial; 1 oz Tanqueray London Dry Gin; 1⁄2 oz Bacardi Carta Blanca Superior White Rum; 1⁄2 oz Lime juice

1 oz Lime cordial
1 oz Tanqueray London Dry Gin
1⁄2 oz Bacardi Carta Blanca Superior White Rum
1⁄2 oz Lime juice

Method

Glassware:

Serve in a Coupe glass

Prepare:

Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
Prepare garnish of lime zest twist and lime wedge.

Method:

SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish:

Express lime zest twist over cocktail and discard.
Garnish with lime wedge on rim.

History:

Created in 2010 by yours truly and named due to the Gimlet's Navy origins and British sailors being nicknamed 'limeys', thanks to mixing their daily rum ration of with lime or lemon juice and sugar to help prevent scurvy. The mixture was known as Grog.
