Iron Cross
Ingredients
- 2⁄3 oz Metaxa 12 Stars
- 2⁄3 oz WhistlePig 10yo Straight Rye Whisky
- 2⁄3 oz Bulleit Bourbon
- 2⁄3 oz Ferro China Baliva
- 1⁄6 oz Sugar syrup 'rich'
Method
Glass:
Photographed in an UB Koto Old Fashioned 30cl
Prepare:
- Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
- Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
Method:
- STIR all ingredients with ice.
- STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).
Garnish:
- EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Created by yours truly in September 2025.
Review:
I started with a Ferra China take on a Sazerac and six experimental cocktails later, ended up with this more iron-influenced Old Fashioned. I enjoyed the journey, and where it led me.
