History:

In 1814, Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled to the now-Italian island of Elba in the Mediterranean Sea. This cocktail combines flavors inspired by Napoleon's short-lived exile on Elba, during which he reminisced about his youth in the neighboring Mediterranean island of Corsica as well as reflected on his army's defeat in Russia, which forced him into exile.
